Republican Main Street Partnership PAC Unveils Nebraska Ad Exposing Club for Growth’s Hostility to American Farmers

Club for Growth Attacks Farmers While Funneling Out-of-State Money to Nebraska Congressional Candidate

(Washington, DC) - The Republican Main Street Partnership (RMSP) PAC unveiled a new radio ad running in Nebraska that exposes the Club for Growth’s position on farmers. "The Club for Growth has been pouring tens of thousands of out-of-state dollars into the primary in Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional district, and voters in Nebraska deserve to know the Club’s history of hostility to farmers and agricultural interests," said Sarah Chamberlain Resnick, head of the RMSP PAC.

The Club for Growth has funneled more than $70,000 in out-of-state money to support Adrian Smith’s campaign for the Republican nomination in Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District.

The Main Street PAC radio ad, which begins airing today, details the Club for Growth’s record of hostility to American farmers. The ad, a copy of which can be found on the Main Street PAC’s web page (www.mainstreetpac.com), ends by asking, "If the Club for Growth doesn’t like Nebraska farmers, why is Adrian Smith taking so much of their money?"

"The Club for Growth called the Republican passed farm bill the ‘worst farm bill in American history,’ and has stooped as low as to call American farmers ‘welfare recipients," continued Resnick.

In addition to attacking farmers and Republican farm legislation, the Club for Growth’s President, Pat Toomey, has even advocated for the abolition of the Department of Agriculture.

"The Club for Growth’s position on farmers is outrageous. Nebraska family farmers deserve our support and protection, and Adrian Smith should be embarrassed by the Club for Growth’s attacks on farmers in his district," concluded Resnick.
