Washington,
DC -- Statement by the Republican Main Street
Partnership PAC on the lineup of guest speakers at
the upcoming Republican National Convention:
“The Republican Main Street Partnership is very
pleased that a number of prominent centrist
Republicans will be speaking at the upcoming
Republican convention. The fact that three
Republican Main Street Partnership members -- Sen.
John McCain, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Gov.
George Pataki -- have been given a prominent role at
the convention illustrates that President Bush, Ed
Gillespie, and other party leaders understand how
critical the moderate wing is to the Republican
Party. The GOP is a big tent party that has room for
both centrists and conservatives, and the lineup of
speakers for the 2004 convention reflects this.”
