Main Street PAC Congratulates Lynn Jenkins

REPRESENTATIVE TOM DAVIS (R-VA), MAIN STREET PAC - "LYNN JENKINS' WIN LAST NIGHT IS NOT ONLY A VICTORY FOR THE PEOPLE OF KANSAS, IT IS ALSO AN IMPORTANT STEP FORWARD ON THE ROAD BACK TO A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY IN THE U.S. HOUSE."

(Washington, DC) - The Republican Main Street Partnership PAC congratulates Lynn Jenkins on her victory last night, securing the nomination of the Republican Party in Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District.  “Lynn Jenkins’ win last night is not only a victory for the people of Kansas, it is also an important step forward on the road back to a Republican majority in the U.S. House,” said Representative Tom Davis (R-VA), a member of the Board of Directors of the Main Street PAC.

Jenkins defeated former Congressman Jim Ryun 51% to 49%.  Jenkins, Kansas’ State Treasurer, was supported by centrist Republican organizations like the Main Street PAC and Main Street’s state affiliate – Kansas Traditional Republican Majority.

“The choice for voters in November will be clear,” continued Davis.  “The candidate who’s pragmatic, common-sense agenda best reflects the values of average Kansans is Lynn Jenkins – not Nancy Boyda.”

“In order to regain our Congressional majorities, our party must compete and win in districts like Kansas’ 2nd.  Our party now has a nominee that can attract independents and centrist Democrats to build the electoral coalition necessary to win in November,” continued Davis. “Lynn’s win last night is bad news for Nancy Pelosi and Nancy Boyda.”

“The Main Street PAC will continue to support candidates who are committed to finding common sense solutions to the challenges our nation faces,” concluded Davis.
