Washington, DC – Today the Republican Main Street
Partnership Political Action Committee announced it
will begin running a new T.V. ad in Michigan’s
Seventh Congressional District that highlights GOP
candidate Joe Schwarz’s record as a tax cutter.
“Notice how the
closer we get to elections, the more the candidates
talk about cutting taxes?” the 30-second T.V. ad
asks. “It’s more important what a person does than
what he talks about.” It lists a number of tax
breaks that Schwarz voted for while serving in the
Michigan
legislature, including those benefiting seniors,
veterans and small-business owners. A transcript of
the ad is below.
The
spot begins airing Monday, July 26 and will run
until the Aug. 3 primary. It is part of a larger
media blitz by RMSP PAC designed to boost Schwarz’s
campaign. RMSP PAC is also sending a mail piece to
nearly 70,000 households this week and is airing a
radio ad. The mail piece highlights Schwarz’s work
in the health care field; the radio ad, which began
airing July 15, features U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI)
discussing why he is backing Schwarz’s candidacy.
“Dr. Joe Schwarz has a strong record as a committed
fiscal conservative, and the Republican Main Street
Partnership PAC wants to ensure that Seventh
District voters hear this message,” said RMSP PAC
Spokeswoman Kerry Kantin. “His vast range of life
experience – he’s been a physician, held public
office and served in the U.S. military -- makes him
the most qualified to represent the people of
Michigan’s Seventh District in the U.S. Congress.”
RMSP
PAC, a political action committee that supports
centrist Republican candidates, announced its
endorsement of Schwarz March 26. This advertisement
was created independently of the Schwarz campaign.
