Washington,
DC – The Republican Main Street Partnership
Political Action Committee and the people of
Michigan scored a major
victory with Joe Schwarz’s win in the
Republican primary in Michigan’s Seventh
Congressional District. His victory over
five more conservative candidates
exemplifies that the centrist wing of the
Republican Party is going strong.
“This was a
great victory, not only for the Republican
Main Street Partnership PAC, but more
importantly, a great victory for the folks
of
Michigan. Joe
Schwarz will be a tremendous Member of
Congress,” said RMSP PAC Advisory Board
Member U.S. Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI). “Joe
puts policy over politics and he has the
experience necessary to tackle the tough
issues from day number one - health care,
job creation and protecting the homeland.
His message of fiscal responsibility and
common-sense conservatism resonated with the
folks of the Seventh District. These are
trying times, and Joe is the right man for
the job.”
Schwarz thanked RMSP PAC, which endorsed
Schwarz in March, for helping educate voters
on the issues.
“This was a hard-fought race where I knew
all along that issues mattered,” Schwarz
said. “The Republican Main Street
Partnership PAC was instrumental in helping
the voters focus on the important issues in
the 7th district. Their focus and
assistance was invaluable. We share a
vision of expanding the Republican Party
base. I truly appreciate everything they
did in this race, which was one of the most
watched in the country. I could not have
done this without them.”
