Washington, DC – Calling him a leading voice in the
centrist wing of the Republican Party, the Republican
Main Street Partnership Political Action Committee today
announced its endorsement of Rep. Christopher Shays
(R-CT)
“Christopher Shays is a consistent voice for fiscal
responsibility and personal responsibility in Congress,”
said RMSP PAC Advisory Board Member Rep. Michael Castle
(R-DE). “His championing of environmental protection;
the challenges of transportation, economic development
and housing in our urban areas; stem cell research; and
a national energy policy emphasizing conservation and
renewable energy make him an effective representative of
the people of Connecticut's Fourth District. The RMSP
PAC is proud to endorse his candidacy.”
Congressman Shays is running for a ninth term
representing Connecticut’s Fourth Congressional
District, which spans the southwest part of the state
and includes the cities of Stamford, Norwalk and
Bridgeport. He is one of the original members of the
Republican Main Street Partnership, a public policy
organization dedicated to promoting centrist Republican
policies.
“Congressman Shays has done an excellent job serving
the people of Fairfield County and serving our nation,”
Rep. Castle added. “He has been a leader in Congress on
many key issues and a tenacious fighter for the causes
he believes in, especially preparing for future
terrorist threats and getting our economy back on
track. We need him back in Washington helping to keep
the centrist wing of our party strong."
