Washington, DC – Today the Republican Main Street
Partnership (RMSP) PAC announced its endorsement of
Representative Rob Simmons for his third re-election
bid. Simmons joined Republican Main Street Partnership
during his freshman year in Congress.
“Rob
Simmons is an effective legislator for his Connecticut
constituents, and a consistent leader for fiscal
responsibility in Congress,” said RMSP Executive
Director Sarah Chamberlain Resnick. “He has tackled
specific Connecticut challenges on economic development
and transportation, and his military background provides
valuable insight as America fights the War on Terror.
His ability to work closely with both Republicans and
Democrats to fight for the needs of his constituents
makes him an effective representative of the people of
Connecticut's Second District. The RMSP PAC is proud to
endorse his candidacy.”
A
committed Main Street member, he has fought for issues
that are important to the American people and the
residents of Connecticut’s second district, including
Medicare, veterans’ benefits and tax relief. In
Congress, Simmons sits on the House Armed Services,
Transportation and Infrastructure, and Veterans' Affairs
committees.
Prior
to his election to Congress in 2000, Simmons served in
the Connecticut General Assembly. He has also served in
the U.S. Army and worked as a CIA Operations Officer for
a decade, including five years on assignment overseas in
East Asia.
